About
I am from Taiwan, who is studying for my PhD in the Chelsea School, Universirt of Brighton. My research is involved in the relationship between Sports and Politics, focus on the 'Two China Issue'. 'Two Chinas' was a product from the Cold War, and even the period of Cold War has been finished in 1990s, the tense of the Republic of China (ROC) and People's Republic of China (PRC) is still tight.
Moreover, this complicated political status has affcted and also affects the sport development of both sides, and Taiwan is still struggle for participating in international sport arena under its National Name, National Anthem and National Flag.
This is a wide-range historical research subject and in my PhD study, it concerns on the debates from 1949 to 1981, when the Olympic Agreement had been signed by Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee (CTOC) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Since then, the delegations of ROC (Taiwan) only could participate in all international sport events in the title called 'Chinese Taipei'.
