About
Ioannis is a Senior Lecturer in Hospitality and Culinary arts at the University of Brighton. He is also a founding member of the Brighton Hospitality Research group.
His PhD (from Surrey) focused on Locus of Control (Personality) and Online Technology Acceptance Of Hostel (Hospitality) Customers. He received his MSc in Tourism and Hospitality Education (with Merit) from Surrey and a Diploma in Hotel Management from the IHTTI in Switzerland (with Honors).
His industry experience ranges from Small Businesses in Greece and the UK to five star Hotels in London, Scotland and Germany. He has also opened and managed a restaurant in Greece and managed an organisation promoting theatre and accommodation packages in London.
Ioannis is very active in the Industry and was the Chairman of the Institute of Hospitality -Surrey Branch for many years and is currently the Vice Chair of the London Branch. He is also a Trustee of Tourism Concern. He has worked as a consultant on a number of projects in Hospitality Organisations both in the UK and abroad.
He is passionate about teaching and Hospitality and maintains a monthly column known as Hotelier 3.0 with the http://www.hotel-industry.co.uk online magazine.
